The temperature of the measured object is converted via the IR sensor or pyrometer into a linear, standardised, analogue sensor output signal or a digital sensor output signal.
Standard analogue signals
The most commonly used standard analogue signals are 0-20mA, 4-20mA and 0-10V. These signals can be further processed by analogue inputs or analogue cards in the PLC or used for signal processing in LED displays, panel meters and PIB controllers.
Thermocouple output:
Sensors with a thermocouple type K output provide an mV signal and can be used very well as a replacement for contact type K sensors and integrated into the existing infrastructure.
Bus interfaces (RS485, ModBus)
Communication via the bus interfaces is bidirectional, i.e. the infrared temperature measuring device not only sends signals but also receives them. This means that the pyrometer can also be parameterised during operation if, for example, the emissivity or min/max values are changed because a different material is being processed on the machine.
The infrared sensors and pyrometers can also be integrated into sensor networks via the bus interfaces. The sensors can be quickly and easily configured with a PC/laptop using a USB adapter cable.
