The setting to the smallest possible deviation from the correct measured value is called adjustment. This requires an intervention on the measuring device.
A blackbody calibrator is used as a reference temperature source to calibrate pyrometers, infrared thermometers and infrared temperature sensors. A reference temperature (e.g. 100°C) is set on this. Then point the device to be adjusted at the radiating surface of the calibrator and set the reference temperature of 100°C on the pyrometer.
Pyrometers, infrared thermometers and infrared temperature sensors are adjusted to minimize the values of measurement deviations and to ensure that the measured values do not exceed the tolerance limits specified in the technical data sheets.
